Joël Bouchard is a former professional hockey player. He was a defenseman for eight different NHL teams between 1994 and 2006. In 2008, he became an assistant coach of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League team, Junior de Montréal (Montreal Juniors). In June 2011, Bouchard and several partners purchased the Junior de Montréal and relocated the team to the Centre d'Excellence Sports Rousseau in Boisbriand. He initially held the positions of President and General Manager of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada franchise. In August 2014, he replaced Jean-François Houle as head coach of the team. In May 2018, he was appointed head coach of the AHL team, the Laval Rocket.
