David’s love for storytelling began with miniature stick-figure graphic novels in his best friends' basement. From there, he underwent a long journey of different storytelling mediums: from acting in home video superhero adaptations, writing fictional short stories, to singing in musical theatre. Through it all, he found that film had never really gone away. It was then that he realized that he didn’t just want to tell stories, but he needed to. David attended the University of Denver, and created many things, but “The Bird of Paradise” is one that he can confidently say he is most proud of. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with Phi Beta Kappa, double majoring in Film Studies & Production, and English with a concentration in Creative Writing. He hopes that his writing and direction create meaningful stories that don't present all of life’s answers, but instead ask different questions.
